Outside of school he participates in the Dynamics Ultimate Classics Cover Band playing all around the Chicagoland area. He also performs with jazz groups at festivals and venues such as the Taste of Roselle and Venuti’s and has played in various pit orchestras for community theatre companies in productions such as Beauty and the Beast Jr., Freaky Friday, and Curtains.

Having graduated from the jazz program at the Depaul University School of Music in 2020, Dylan spent four years studying with some of Chicago’s best working jazz musicians such as Bob Palmieri, Dennis Carroll, and Mike Allemana. He spent his last two years at DePaul as the guitarist for the Jazz Workshop under the leadership of Dana Hall.

In addition to his studies in jazz music, Dylan regularly performs a variety of styles of music ranging from pop, indie rock, funk, and blues. He regularly performs and records with the pop cover group the Divas, singer-songwriter Sophia Cruz, and bands Jacob on the Moon and Dee Beam.

        A move to New York City was a natural one for Peter as he completed a Masters in Jazz Performance at Purchase Conservatory in 2017 under the tutelage of jazz legends such as Jon Faddis, Todd Coolman, and John Abercrombie. While in Manhattan, Peter devoted his time to freelancing and played with a variety of groups including but not limited to the Greg Ruvolo Collective, and Princeton Symphony, and the Jason Marshall Big Band. He has performed at such venues as Minton’s, Blue Note, and Carnegie Hall.

        In 2018 Peter joined the Broadway National Tour of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” where he toured the US, Mexico, and Canada as Broadway “Pit” musician. In his travels, he visited New Orleans, the birthplace of Jazz, for the very first time. He immediately fell in love with the city, and when the opportunity arose, he moved to study traditional jazz, and quickly became a staple of the Frenchman Street music scene from 2021-23.

        Not only has Peter flourished in the jazz and big band scene here in Chicago in such groups as the “Heritage Jazz Orchestra”, “Blue Shift Big Band”, and “MOBiUS”, he has also found his voice as an in demand Tuba/Sousaphonist in the “Chicago Windy City Ramblers Brass Band” & the NOLA trad-jazz-inspired “Do-Rights”, where he co-leads the group as a vocalist.

Adam started playing piano at age 7, studying classical piano with Sophie Pak-Cheang and eventually working as a music theory instructor for her studio. He picked up trumpet at age 10 and taught himself jazz before taking lessons with Mark Olen during his senior year of high school. Throughout high school, he played trumpet in multiple groups, including the West Loop Big Band, Midwest Young Artists, Calienda’s Banda Napoletana, and his own trio. At age 15, Adam began teaching piano and trumpet lessons professionally, as well as accompanying fellow students at solo and ensemble competitions. Since then, he has been active on the Chicago music scene, playing at various venues while composing music and continuing to teach. Notable honors he has received include being a semifinalist for the National Trumpet Competition, winning the Chicago Jazz Orchestra’s Definitively Dizzy competition, winning a substantial scholarship through the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artists competition, and making the honor roll for 3 years at Depaul, as well as playing in its top jazz ensemble.

Growing up Matt had the opportunity to learn and perform in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Allen Tinkham while also working with Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians. This early experience of finding the joy in learning music inspired Matt to continue passing on to other aspiring musicians what he had learned during his years with CYSO. Matt has taught all ages and levels of cello and piano. He finds it a true joy helping students identify goals and guiding them to find their most authentic musical voice and style.
